Update 1

My first doctor appointment went well except for the fact that I went  a little too early. They did an ultrasound to see the how far long I was and to check if they can see a heartbeat. Unfortunately, we couldn't see one. I was very disappointed. Max wanted to hear from the doctor's mouth that I was in fact pregnant so I made the doctor tell him. Dr. Davis told us to go back for another appointment in 2 weeks and she assured us that we will be able to see and hear the heartbeat of the baby. So we made our next appointment for May 20, 2008. I was anxious for this appointment and couldn't wait until the day was here. I felt like a little kid looking on the calendar counting down the days to the next birthday so I can get gifts! So the day came and the first thing we did was go straight to the ultrasound room. I laid there acting it's just another day but deep inside I was so happy!!!! The image came up and I couldn't see anything first except I noticed the little cloud was a little bigger than last night. All the sudden, I heard the tech say - THERE IT IS! Do you see it? It was the most amazing thing, I saw the little heart beating! I immediately started tearing up. She then said, would you like to hear it? OF COURSE!! Are you kidding me?!?! The next thing I know, I heard the heart beating nice and strong. I knew I was pregnant but it didn't hit me until that moment that I was carrying a child inside me. I now have 2 hearts beating inside me. I can't tell you how amazing this feeling is. I can only image if my mom felt this way when she was pregnant with me. She was about the same age as me when she got pregnant with me. I wish she was here so I can hear stories about us during this special time. I wish she was here so I would have someone to lean on, ask questions...., also to help me with this so called "morning" sickness that happens at night for me. I know she's looking down on me with a smile and hopefully knows I will try to be the best mother to my child.

The next appointment is set for June 20, 2008 for a regular monthly check up. The next exciting thing is when we find out the sex of the baby. That will happen in the month of August. Everyone is hoping for a girl so we will see.

The baby is due January 1st, 2009 - isn't that kind of cool? But we want the baby to be here before the end of the year so we can file he/she on our taxes. Haha....Any little thing will help.

Gas has officially gone to $3.99 a gallon today. I'm still going to say it will reach $5.00 a gallon by the end of summer. This is just crazy!

That's all for now - Goodnight!
