kicking away

Ever since I found out I was pregnant, I couldn't wait until the day when I could feel the baby inside me moving around. I would google things like how soon do some pregnant ladies feel the baby for the 1st time and they ranged from all months during pregnancy. Of course that didn't help me but I would always pay attention when I'm sitting down to see if I notice any movements. There were many times I thought I felt it but wasn't 100% sure until last night. I was watching Hollow Man 2 movie on Showtime because I was waiting for Big Brother to come on at 8. Max was in the kitchen cooking Curry Chicken (he makes the best ones too!) and all the sudden, I felt a kick on the left side of my stomach. I knew then that's how it feels! It was the most amazing feeling. It was definitely different but great! The baby then kicked 2 more times and I just giggled the entire time. It has been great journey but to actually feel the baby alive inside is the most amazing thing a woman can ever imagine in my opinion.

Reading these week by week pregnancy calendars, I also found out the baby can hear starting at this stage so I've been talking to the baby and hope to let him/her hear some classical music. That's what my mom did with me so I think that's how I have some musical sense in me. Sign language has been on my mind as well, I read studies that showed moms who sign with their children, learn to speak a lot faster. A lot of people tend to think the baby won't talk and just sign but it's showing the opposites! I'm not trying to create a genius or anything but I'd like to be able to communicate with my child sooner.

We find out the sex of the baby on August 8, 2008. A day that the Summer Olympic starts in Beijing, China. What an exciting day that will be!! I can't wait to see if I'm going to have a little girl (which is what I want and hope this child to be) or a little Max that will end up being mama's boy. Until then...
