and the answer is.....

I was up at 6am on August 8, 2008 excited about what's to come. I laid in my bed staring at the ceiling just wondering if I have a little Charlotte or little Graham and thinking I will find out in less than 3 hours! I felt like a kid who just woke up on the first day at Disney World filled with happiness and excitement.

We arrived at the doctor's office early. My appointment time was at 8:15 and we got there at 8:05. I went ahead and signed in, started my normal routine by peeing in a cup then finger pricked and wait for the nurse to take me back. I gained another 2 pounds since my last appointment, blood pressure normal. Every nurse I talked to, I told them how excited I was that I get to find out the sex of the baby. Dr. Davis even came around and we spoke for a few minutes and wished me luck on the girl and they were keep their fingers crossed for me. I was told to get my family next and wait in the ultrasound waiting room. We were called back pretty fast and the tech said she would have to do all the normal stuff first like measuring the baby's head, stomach, kidneys, look at the heart at all 4 chambers. The baby weighed in at 10 ounces - almost 1 pound! The tech said the baby was looking great, which was great news to hear. After 20 minutes of looking at the baby, she said ok, are we ready to find out now? We all shouted, YES! Max had the camcorder all ready to go so she said, here we go. The whole process took about 6 minutes. She viewed the baby from the butt view (upward) and froze on the screen. I looked at her and said, so do you know what it is? She replied, of course. At this point, I remembered looking at other people's ultrasound videos on youtube so I had an idea of what I was looking at. I got a little worried because it looked like a boy's ultrasound I had seen. I then said, is it a boy? She said, "yes". You can replay the video and can hear max go, yes, it's a boy and me saying, are you sure. Gloria's response was, oh no...... It's not that we're not happy it's a boy but we were just for sure it was a girl that it shocked us.

So yes, we're having a boy. The names are narrowed down to Nathan or Graham. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed but I'm really happy about it now. He's going to be handsome and sweet and definitely a mama's boy, I'll see to that.
